1 - John Offerdahl’s GridIron Grill Off
Saturday, December 1 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Pompano Beach Community Park Join us for an afternoon of tailgating, football, and FUN! John Offerdahl, Miami Dolphins 8 year all-pro, along with the City of Pompano Beach will be hosting the 3rd Annual Gridiron Grill Off Competition. This Grid Iron Grill Off is a food and wine event where celebrity, competition and charity collide! Join other legendary Miami Dolphins football players and team up with Broward County’s best chefs as fans eat, drink, vote & compete in the grill off! 1 - CRA Hosts 3rd Annual Light Up MLK
The City of Pompano Beach NW Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will host the 3rd Annual Light Up MLK Event on Saturday, December 1st at Annie Adderly Gillis Park. This free community event will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with the ceremonious tree lighting scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m.

This family friendly Florida event includes live entertainment including musical and dance performances by local community performers. Santa Claus will spread his jolly good cheer throughout the park while handing out candy and taking holiday gift wishes from children.
All event attendees can enjoy complimentary hot dogs and non-alcoholic beverages, interactive festivities including holiday cookie and art decorating, and for the first time a snow play area where both adults and children can join in on the fun.

7 - Yuletide in the Park - Due to popular demand, the Yuletide Parade and Celebration is back in Community Park! The Yuletide Parade and Celebration will be held on Friday, December 7th starting at 6:00 p.m.

The Parade will feature eye dazzling floats, marching bands, dancers, fire clowns, and a variety of other amazing entertainment. After the Yuletide Parade, join us in Community Park for children’s activities, clowns, face paining, ride, crafts, and a holiday show on the amphitheater stage! Be sure to have your camera charged and ready for a picture opportunity with Santa Claus and other characters joining us in the park. Community Park is located at 2001 NE 10th Street, on the corner of NE 10th Street and Federal Highway.
The parade will begin at NE 5th Avenue and NE 10th Street near the Sample-McDouglad House and the Pompano Beach Elks Lodge. The parade will proceed east on NE 10th Street to NE 11th Avenue south the NE 8th Street and east into Community Park.
Mayor Lamar Fisher will light the community Yuletide Tree to officially ring in the holiday season in Pompano Beach. Refreshments will be available in the park.

9 - Sundae with Santa E. Pat Larkins Sunday, December 9 6:00-8:00pm What could be better then capping off your evening with Santa and an ice cream sundae? We will provide the ice cream and some time with Santa along with holiday crafts, and lots of holiday cheer!

9 - Holiday Boat Parade The date of the Boat Parade has been moved to December 9th at 6 p.m. to allow for greater opportunity to participate and celebrate this historical milestone.
An annual affair, 2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Pompano Boat Parade, possibly one of the longest running boat parades in the United States.
Thousands gather along the Intracoastal Waterway every year to celebrate this annual event that starts in Pompano Beach, runs through Lighthouse Point and Hillsboro Beach before ending at Hillsboro Blvd. in Deerfield Beach. This year the star-studded event will start at Lake Santa Barbara at 6 p.m., thirty minutes earlier to encourage more families to come out and participate this year.
Participants will get a special hand-painted commemorative ornament available to only captains who participate. This ornament, hand painted by local Pompano artist Pat Anderson will be only for those who complete the parade route.
Entrance into the boat parade is free and boats large or small are encouraged to enter the parade and help celebrate this milestone for North Broward. Email or call 954-941-2940 with any questions on participation or sponsorship or to RSVP your boat.

26 - January 4 - Winter Break Camp Get ready for 2 weeks of adventure at the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center, the Herb Skolnick Center, Highlands Park, Mitchell Moore and McNair Park! Kids will venture on field trips, participate in games, special events, arts and crafts, and much much more! Camp will be closed on Christmas Eve (12/24); Christmas Day (12/25); New Years Eve (12/31) and New Years Day (1/1) Ages 6 – 12; Grades: K-5
